Problem with new TV. Chorus?

    Hi there

I bought a new Hannspree 32inch flatscreen TV last week. I've noticed that the sound and lip movement is slightly out. It is only a fraction of a second but it is annoying to watch.

I called up the shop I got the TV from and they have said it is more likely the UPC/Chorus box.

Taking the TV back to the store is a bit of a pain as I don't drive. Has anyone else had a similar problem with their ntl box - I have the new one that looks like a DVD player (and yes, I am a total technophobe :D )

    Thanks - any help appreciated.

First can you tell us the following....

    1. Were the picture and sound in sync. on the old TV? You referred to the TV as 'new' so I'm wondering if this problem only arose when you bought a new TV.

    2. What town are you in? My (Dublin) NTL box is in sync.

    3. Are you routing the sound through an amp. direct from the NTL box? if you are then you will find the picture and sound out of sync. I take the sound from the TV and route it to the amp, if your TV has audio out sockets that's what you'll need to do.

If the sound is coming straight from the TV speakers then you will need to check out the manual for the TV.

    Thank you

The old tv pic and sound were in sync.

Not sure what you mean by an amp? I just have the TV plugged into a socket on the wall:confused: and the leads are plugged into a normal power soucre. I don't thimk I have an amp.

I am not in Dublin. I have checked all the plugs and nothing is loose.

It's actually worse today for some reason.
