    Folks ,

Just incase someone try's to buy one on the cheap ,

Her indoors had hers taken over the weekend at Oxegen ,its 16Gig white, on VF network, its IEMI is barred now.

You will be buying a an iPod touch if you do :D

Tracked the little toads into one of the campsites but I was not at the event myself so didnt go in , just remotely locked and wiped it.

    Good lad ,

    A know it all,

As this has now been reported to the insurance company(vodafone sells it not sure who underwrities it) they have reported the phones EIR to the CEIR database, which is a global blacklist in which network operators share blacklisted devices EIR details.

Also I'm sure thousands of people left there iPhones at home cause they were at oxegen , even more so when there not camping.

So they can just change the IMEI on the phone and sell it on here if they wish....

Or if one were to buy an iPhone (maybe at a better price if the thief knows the phone doesn't work and can't get anyone else to buy it as a result?) which was blocked then they could change it themselves.

blocking a phone only works in ireland, go up the north or to england and it will work fine

I often doubt if they even bar the IEMI in Ireland, I know a case of an iphone that was reported lost/stolen and the IEMI barred.

The phone was returned after the insurance claim was made, nothing was mentioned to the phone company and was given to one of my mates until it presumably stopped working, continues to work to this day (1+ year on)

People make mistake's. I pitty the "Idiots" who can't live there lives without worrying. "OOOOh What's going to happen to my expensive phone". The phone was bought to be enjoyed. So enjoy it and stop worrying about life.

Seems your struggling to grasp the situation here Il go though it again for you.

I did not bring the phone to Oxegen , the good lady did.

The iPhone 4 uses a micro sim card which most cheap ordinary phones dont take.

So did you leave your phone at home and telepathically communicate with your mates for the weekend ?

The iPhone 4 covers the camera side of things so there is one less thing to worry about loosing ;) also it there was an oxegen app , with location services and all the timetables on it

She was not camping either so bringing something expensive with her was not an issue ,

You must have to little to be worrying about in life if leaving your phone at home just incase it gets lost or stolen when you go to a festival, did the mammy pack your bag too ?

The phone was insured , so it going missing again is not an issue.

Was just trying to give someone the heads up incase they got landed with stolen goods ,but by the sounds of you that is something you would have no bother with.
