Kompass Directory - any good?

I am considering using Kompass to get a list of Irish companies. Has anyone used these lists? Are they up-to-date? How do they actually work (as their online demos seem to be broken)? Are they expensive or is there suitable alternatives?

When I/we have used it we have found its either not complete or not upto date for a lot of companies.

It has its uses but so does google.

I have access to the full Kompass database - it is true to say that not all info on every company will be filled in. But I think it is usually the same with these databases- the researchers ring up and get as much info as they can from secretaries and also from company reports, CRO, web etc. In some instances it is not possible to fill out every field.

That said there is a ton of info in it, some 46,000 businesses if I remember correctly.

I've also got access to the Irish Media Guide which is handy and more complete then Kompass but obviously only covers media in Ireland. It's still great for any new business trying to generate publicity- a real time saver to say the least, especially all the email addresses for journalists/PR people

What info does Kompass have for each company i.e. can you email each company? Or how do you access the info?

I have heard of a company called All Eire Listings which would seem to provide what you are looking for. I have not used their services so cannot recommend...
