    Hey,

I'm on the hunt for some new earphones and need some help with what to get.

I currently have something like this http://www.philips.com.ph/c/mp3-player-accessories/she9850_98/prd/;jsessionid=475682CB47D13D1BC6A7C5222EB862CC.app102-drp4 by Philips (they cost €25) although now they are on way out.

The wire that's attached to the bit that goes into the iPod is "worn away" and so the sound is affected.

I have to hold the wire a certain way to get any sound and the sound I do get has like an echo off it.

Can anyone recommend any earphones please? Nothing too expensive €15-€20 would be the most I could afford.

    Thanks for any help :)

Even if you paid me 7 euro I wouldn't use skullcandy. You can get Maxell earbuds for 3 euro in easons that have better build quality than what skullcandy make.

Look up the soundmagic pl30 or meelec m9 or m16. There's a massively detailed review comparing over 100 different iems here http://www.head-fi.org/forum/thread/478568/multi-iem-review-182-iems-compared-soundmagic-e30-blue-ever-blue-866b-added-7-06 All of them score lowish because they're up against an unlimited budget but factor in their cost and you see how well they perform for their price.

If I was you though I'd try saving your money and save towards something like a the soundmagic pl50 or if you can a head direct re0 or fischer audio dba-02. Yes they're expensive but I've had my re0 survive going through a washing machine and still work over 18 months later.

    Hi,

Thank you for your help and suggestions.

Would you have any links to where I might be able to purchase any of these headphones please? From within the E.U, Ireland/UK preferably.

    Thanks.

pl30 can be gotten on amazon.co.uk for under £20 but you're going to have to pay for delivery as it's under £25 so it could cost closer to 25 in the end.
Pixmania are offering it for £15.90 or €17.90. I don't know how much delivery is.
Or if you don't mind waiting mp4 nation are offering it for $22.50 but you could be waiting a month.

You can order from Meelec's website direct. The other websites that are official suppliers to the uk are:

    http://www.amazon.co.uk/s/ref=nb_sb_noss?url=search-alias%3Delectronics&field-keywords=meelectronics&x=15&y=21
