good photos. They really have the nationalities wrong on two of the cyclists there though!

    Vino from Russia?
    Juan Manuel Garate from Netherlands?!!

Technically when Vino was born Kazak was part of the USSR which many simply referred to as Russia. They only gained independence in the 90's and became the Republic of Kazakhstan. So to say Vino is Russian while being incorrect could be mistaken and forgiven.

Juan Manuel Garate while being Spanish is riding for Rabobank so I'd say thats the confusion there. Not saying they are correct but I can see where they got it wrong.

Relax its genetic mostly, have the same thing myself. Not as bad as George's but getting there.

The strange thing is that cycling has made them visibly less disgusting, due to a reduction in fat and therefore a reduction is veinous fat tissue and therefore a reduction is that bluey colour that comes with them (self-diagnosed open to correction :P), yet is has possibly made them increase in size. Finally going to the doctor about them this week though.

We all know cyclist are tough boyos but when you see that shot of Hoogerland's cuts, you really have to wonder how he got back on a bike and rode almost 40km to the finish...

The mistakes are definitely forgivable. I can follow their train of thought alright
Vino did ride for the Soviet national team just before USSR broke up. However given his strong association to his country and the bright national colours he has worn since taking the national championships in 2005, it just indicates that the Guardian people arent really familiar with the sport, or at least once it goes past Sky they come up short. Perhaps they think the tour is disputed by national teams and the Rabobank team means that all its riders are Dutch!

It's kind of cool that the world at large can see that us cyclists aren't just pussies in gayer clothing but are hard men.

Well, it's kind of cool that the world at large can see that us PROFESSIONAL cyclists aren't just pussies in gayer clothing but are hard men.

Actually, correction - It's kind of cool that the world at large can see that us PROFESSIONAL cyclists aren't just pussies in gayer clothing but are ACCIDENT PRONE hard men.

I had veins like those since I was in my teens. It only took a day in hospital to have them fixed - worse fool me for not doing it when I was young.

had em removed a few years ago, find that cycling relives the pain of Varicose. was one of the main reasons to start cycling years ago. no sign of a return of the veins after 7 yrs

I have big blue snakes in my legs also, they have seem to be baking nicely since I started on the bike, never knew you could get rid.

Might be an idea in the future :)

never had any pain, purely aesthetic. Hopefully will be getting rid of them soon, but if family history is to go by they'll be back! Cycling has definitely improved the look I'm sure of it.
