Carrying modules into 2nd year?

I have 4 maths modules to repeat in August before I can get into 2nd year. It'll hopefully work out.

If something does go wrong, however, and I fail one or more modules, can I carry them into 2nd year? If so, is there a limit as to how many I can carry?

Also, I'm not required to do maths or science in 2nd year (Multimedia BSc).

No, you can't carry them into second year. You need to pass all of them or get a 40% average and over 25% in each module. If you don't do that then any modules you did fail you'll have to repeat next year.

I'm afraid there's no option to "carry on" modules. If you happened to fail any outright (i.e. didn't get compensation), you would have to either repeat first year internally or externally (albeit only with the failed module(s)).

Thanks for the info. My course had been discontinued so I guess that means I can't repeat the year.

What course is it? I doubt that's the case.

depending on the whether or not you have labs or what ever, you may be able to repeat externally, happened to me with english.


as in, course changed, so no lectures etc just took another exam the following year based on the old course

I'm doing Multimedia BSc.

I'm sure I could repeat maths externally next year but according to the media studies department online, my program is no longer offered, so I wouldn't have a 2nd year to go into.

Hmmm, that is a bit of an issue. My advice is to not fail maths! Contact me if you want a few grinds, with a pile of work you'll be grand
