TS 2 was at Terenure show this year and I had the chance to see it up close with others from TCOC. Here are a few photos of TS 2.

TS 2 was the first right hand drive and the 2 nd TR built and first registered in Ireland. Now owned by the TR Register in the UK.

AXA as you can see from the sponsor stickers on the wing cover it while in Ireland.

TS 1 the first TR which was LHD is in the states and it was shipped over to the TR international where it and TS 2 were on display together.

    TS2 - A brief history
The second ever production TR, built, with it's sister car TS1 in July 1953, as the two pre-production cars, prior to series production commencing at TS3. Both cars were completed by Standard Triumph on 22nd July 1953, both finished in white with Geranium interiors.

TS1 was left hand drive and went new to Canada to be shown at the Toronto Motor Show in 1953, whereas TS2 was right hand drive and went to Southern Ireland for display at the Autumn 1953 Dublin Motor Show. Following this, during the winter of 1953/54, it was displayed at various dealer's showrooms, and finally sold in about March 1954 to Dr. Brendan O'Hara.

He used it in various competitions and it was registered "IR 6360". He owned it for many years, and it was eventually sold to Tom Brown in Northern Ireland. At some point it came to England for a period and received the registration "773 EWO".

Tom Brown again used it in races and rallies, and unfortunately it was modified to some extent during this time. It was eventually offered for sale in a poor state in 1975, and was purchased for restoration by Keith Read, the then Motoring Editor of the "Coventry Evening Telegraph". He commenced the restoration in the late 1970's but for personal reasons the project could not continue, so the car was stored by him, partially restored, from 1980 to 1997.

In April 1997, Keith very generously donated the car, a vehicle of great historical importance, to the TR Register on condition that the club restores the car to original condition, which project is now being under taken in conjunction with TR Enterprises.
