Not allowed by the USPGA , but what would the stance be from GUI ?

My slice got so bad into the later stages of my round on Friday evening I was wishing there were golf balls with GPS built into them so I could find the dam things !

Start off a game hitting decent drives but as the game wares on , my drives go more and more to the right(Sliced) , Im getting more used to playing the back nine from the fairway beside me then the one Im supposed to be on !

Ive ordered a few of these to see how it turns out and will report back , if anything it might rid me of the sense of disillusion the last few games has left me with .

    Eh cheating much ?

So I take it that you have the stance from the GUI there in front of you ?

It is why I asked the question, so eh

    Pedantic Much ?

Would not be playing in any comps with them as dont even have a handicap yet and they would more than likely not be allowed by the GUI , just said I would give em a go and see if they do as they say on the tin.

Even if they work, what would be the point? You'll still have whatever the root cause of your slice is and as soon as you can't use the balls anymore, back it comes. Use legal balls, get the swing sorted.

    Why are these banned?
From a quick look at the site, they have developed a ball that has less spin so it flies straighter.

Don't all ball manufacturers increase/lessen spin, change ball core etc. etc. in order to get batter ball flight and make them more attractive to golfers?

    Am I missing the point?

Completely agree with you , but the question really was are they banned by the GUI ?

Im trying them out really out of curiosity .

I would say there is parameters that the manufactures have to abide by and these balls must not fit into them.

Strange that the USGA have two sets of rules on some of the banned wedges , one for the recreational player and one for USGA tournament player.

I agree and did this. I've already noticed a big improvement with my drives & irons.

To me GUI means graphical user interface. I don't play golf - I was forced to as a kid and I f**king hated it. At this point I play a round of golf about once every 5 years when I happen to be on holidays or something. I would enjoy that but anymore than that and it changes quickly back to hate. When I did play all the time I had the most god-awful slice you can imagine - one one occasion the ball sliced so bad it ended up behind me (no, really).
Yet still I would not use these balls. It would completely defeat the purpose of playing golf. It wouldn't be golf anymore but something else. It would also give me an unfair advantage over my fellow players. If I do play my once in 5 years game I accept the slice as part of it - even though it drives me nuts. And actually if the slice manifests myself I actually play golf and do stuff like use less power or roll over my hands in the swing to compensate - you know....I actually play golf. And compete fairly with my fellow golfers - even if its only a fun game with my fellow duffers.

Spend your cash on lessons instead.

These guys had a stand near us at last years PGA show in Vegas, I managed to rangle a few off them.

I tried them out in Portmarnock Links on a quite evening. I tried force a slice and i have to say that it was very much less pronounced than with a normal ball.

But when hitting my normal high draw the ball flight was not good, very low and i am guessing at 20% less distance, also a funny sound at contact.

I still have some here somewhere in the office.

I will add that the sale manager was stunning looking and very pleasent aswell, she had one of those traditional Irish names with a weird American spelling

I am doing lessons , well in the process of booking them.

Look there is so many things out there that aid how players do , Big heads on Irons, drivers, deeper grooves on wedges, GPS/Laser range finders

Im just really curious as to the effect these balls would have on on a drive so I picked up a sleeve to try em out .

Things evolve, just look at football, they originally wanted the predator boot banned and now look at the footballs that fly all over the shop compared to the old leather ball.

Well I know I have a horrendous slice and it will be fun to see how I crack one of these balls down the field !

I was thinking the distance would be less with the deeper dimples , any how as stated Il let people know are they that dramatically good to a muck player !
