A massive blast in a munitions dump at the Zygi naval base in Greek Cyprus has shaken the island, reports say.
A police spokesman told the state CNA news agency that two containers of gunpowder caught fire. In all, there were 98 containers in the depot.
    Accident or worse!

You should never look in a dark room filled with gunpowder with a lit match.

It was 100 containers of Iranian munitions confiscated on the way to Syria. They basically just left them near a power plant, sitting there, and nobody bothered to decide what to do with them. The base commander (one of those killed in the explosion) had been pressing for a decision for some time, heaven forbid that leaving a container full of explosives in 40 degree summer sunshine mught be safe.

    Cypriot defence minister has resigned.

This is could be another false-flag event, the West is going to blame Iran and Syria for this.

Things are heating up in the Middle East again. It's been reported that the French & US Embassies were "attacked" in Syria by loyalists of that country's President - the French even used firearms to disperse the crowds outside.

There's another war on the horizon, a US-French-British lead war against Iran and Syria. WW3 people!

    /speculative "tinfoil hat" rant

It does seem an incredibly stupid thing to do, it's like putting your lawnmower petrol can right next to the open fire! Knocked out about 40% of the Islands electricity supply as well.

What if it had been a nuke plant.

The heat of the sun would be quite unlikely to have caused it to explode.

I am referring to the munitions dump being so close to a major power station..

I think you may be missing the tongue-in-cheek nature of that post, RttH! >_>

And it seems to have been the base power plant, btw.
