recording to DVD from Video

Hi A friend of a friend has a DVD recorder and wants to record old video cassette recordings to DVD. He is wondering if there is a cable that he can get that he can connect the 2 machines so he can record the stuff to DVD. Any help/advice would be much appreciated.

just get a scart lead to connect the 2 machines
