I always question why people say "oh, I don't want to be ripped off". Nobody else has any idea of what you'll consider to be of value or not; it's a pointlessly banal statement to make since nobody likes feeling screwed for money.

WW2 airsoft - and the same can be made for most historical/period airsoft endeavours - is a very niche area, and as such it all comes down to how far you are willing to go to be satisfied in achieving "the look". So if you want ebay-banned prices; stop now before you begin. Because you wont find any. Even the repro stuff ain't cheap since it's a very specialist niche area. Authentic? hehehehe, have fun with that ebay hunt ....

Anyway; I'll point you at Soldier of Fortune to start you on your way. Good luck whatever way it turns out for you. Just know that to get an accurate WW2 impression will not be cheap whatsoever and is probably best viewed as a project rather than something you want "quick for next week".

Rather than just point you at a website only to have you come backing complaining about prices not being at ebay-banned levels, better you were forewarned on what you're wanting to get yourself into. More fool me for bothering my @rse.

    Whatever.

I have to agree with Lemming here. The information he provided was useful. We could throw website names at you but what would be the point in that? May as well just use google.

Putting together any historic isn't cheap. SOF I found to be the best, while not cheap, it has everything you need.

Historic loadouts are generally harder to do anyway. Everything needs to be right or it stands out a mile. :)

Users that think this forum is thier personal Q&A section, where they get exactly what they want, for a tenth of the price, right now.

    Typical boards.

you could also try the salute miltary show at the national show center out by dublin airport, think its on in early sep but try google, anyway i got a light weight german smock and heavy padded parka both in splittermuster [splinter pattern] 1931 and i got a shirt/smock and trousers in swiss camo last year, okay so the swiss aint ww2 but it is VERY similar to germam leibiermuster 45 pattern so you could use that for ww2 as well

Indeed, got myself some repro ww2 german leatherwork (webbing parts, holster, etc) for my planned project, WW2 airsoft loadouts are more a project, and vision, than 'one stop shop buy it for this game coming up' deal. Youve got to WANT to do it right, or it will apear lifeless, and 'sorta ww2'

to be honest when i play airsoft i use either german ww2 camo or irish green with 1958 pattern and my weapon of choice is the steyr aug a1,while i dont have a problem with modern camo it seems every one uses it in airsoft and i refuse to be another "clone".same as weapons...every whwere you look it seems to be crammed with m-16 / m-4 variants...its almost as if there is nothing else out there.each to their own of course but as the saying goes..."the world would be a very boring place if we were all the same"

Not to be overly critical, but theres hardly a shortage of AUGs in the Irish airsoft scene:D

true enough, but it still amazes me to see the amount of players out there who seem to be afraid to to take a chance

I suppose most people feel its too expensive to take a chance on most stuff,

I have a German WW2 loadout(not at 100% complete yet) and its not a cheap exercise to partake in,
when I started it, most people who wanted a 'Gerry' WW2 gun went for an MP40, so to be different you had the choice of a Dboys K98 or the STG44,
    I went for both:D
    But it did cost more,
For an average skirmisher, think of the price differential between a woodland camo/M4 loadout or a loadout that is specific(be it modern Afghanistan or WW2)!

But, more on topic, Soldier Of Fortune have some nice stuff.
