Rear bootlid and rear arches are especially prone to rust on those cars. you'll need to check that out for a start.

If its a young fella that owns it, chances are its spent more if its time in Ireland sideways rather than going forward.

As others mentioned, they have a habit of spending quite a while (pointlessly IMO) "testing the diff" and the antics of the owner can be a problem.

Just a few things. I don't think purple was an original colour. Why was the engine changed? The Janspeed Manifold I've heard can cause problems with the front chassis rail due to heat. Also, check the rear arches for rubbing. The axle can move under excessive sideways action and with a lowered car, you can get rubbing.

OP, buy with your head, and I've seen and heard of 15k changing hands for concours ones....

Purple was definitely not an original colour.

I wouldn't touch it with a barge pole. If you do go and look at it check the chassis leg beside the 4 branch, the excessive heat causes problems there.

Open the door, you should see a small black plastic grill below the door catch. Take it out and have a good look in there. If you see rust/filler/fibreglass (or yellow insulation stuffed into the cavity, yep I have seen that), walk away

The colour alone would put me off. Its brutal! Tbh I doubt you'll get one without trouble as most are abused and the ad doesn't inspire confidence.

The only way I'd by one is one to restore....ie I know I've work to do on it.
