K so google results actually led me here but didn't give me the answer i was looking for.

Are garda auctions held in every county or is there one central one where everything is sent before being auctioned?

I've always heard of them but never heard of when or where they are.

Also what type of items are there? is it an assorted collection of stuff or what!

The Garda auctions sell everything & anything, from bicycles to to hoovers. Basically anything that has been handed in as lost, or recovered as stolen & which have been in Garda storage for over a certain period of time.

There is no reserve price, so a lot of the stuff sells at bargain basement prices.

The biggest one seems to happen at Merlin Car auctions on the Naas Road in Kildare & Kevin Street in Dublin often have bicycle auctions.

I'm not sure about other parts of the country - I'd say your best bet is to ask in your local station & they'll let you know.

Unless you yourself are a Harcourt Square detective or have no fear for your personal safety, never buy anything at a CAB auction.

Not true. Looks up at roof over head;)Well, not entirely true. Do death threats and failed visits from hitmen count?Your local friendly detective will also advise you not to do it though.. Actually, maybe it is true. hits strikeout

I'd love to get my hands on one of those squad cars.
    No traffic problems.
Wonder how much they'd go for?

If you auctioned all of the useless gardai in the country, they should only fetch about fifty quid

Ah jaysus the meat on those would be a lot more. Just watch the prices shoot up if you get two rival tribes from Borneo bidding against each other

I'll sell you one for €2 but you'll have to give me an advance of €1 and the loan of your hammer before you get it.
