Anyone had any good/bad experience with these cars?

I looked at a couple at the weekend and the rear child locks on both seem to engage themselves automatically, which I thought was weird. I got into the back passenger side and then got out - got in again and couldn't get out without someone opening the door. I was told it was just the child lock but why would it engage itself?

On the other hand, they drive really well and really hold the road on corners and I think the design is shark like!

Locks engaging themselves would p*** me off though.

Lots of cars do this, its to prevent car jacking. Can be switched off in most cases

As Colm says it's a safety feature designed to prevent car jacking or somebody getting into your car while stopped at traffic lights, etc. Nearly all new cars these days have it fitted and it's no big deal, you just need to get used to it. Also afaik but not sure on Mitsubishi, if a passenger on the inside pulls the door leaver twice the door should open.

On my own car as soon as you remove the key from the ignition the auto lock system will disengage.
