    Hi All

Heading up to the Point Tuesday for James Taylor Concert. Looking for advice where to park? I understand the Luas goes straigt to the Point, and that seems like a good option but, where to leave car? Or is parking at the Point an option?

We plan to get to Dublin round 4, a stroll around, few drinks and a meal and then head to the Point.

Hi, theres a car park on jervis st on the left if you park there the luas stop is across the road plus your in the centre of city for shopping/eating, i recommend T.P smiths for pub grub, nice food and right outside the car park !

Sorry just looking at that map it actually shows the carpark for shopping centre, i dont park in that one, instead i park in one which is on the same street but on other side of road. As you turn left off Ormond Quay its on you left, ya cant miss it big sign outside. Stupid map:mad: sorry;)

there's parking outside "the point" (o2 Arena) along the streets (if you get there early), there are loads of car parks which offer gig parking and will mind your car for €10 for the gig (very near the O2/Point)

failing that there's loads of parking in Dublin City Centre (along the luas line) like the other person suggested so plenty of options.

+1 for parking near Jervis and getting the LUAS.

The car park at the 02 is handy for parking close if you are running late, but be warned that there can be long queues to get out of the O2 car park after the concert. I timed it once at taking 40 minutes to get out, which is longer than it would have taken to get back to Jervis on a LUAS.

It's still the Point to me and Landsdowne Road will always be Landsdowne Road too!

We went to a concert there last week and arrived about an hour before doors were due to open, had no problem finding parking on the streets (about a minute or two to walk to the o2) otherwise you could park in the Jervis and get the luas up.

so i assume you are travelling from outside Dublin.
What direction are you coming from?
If you're coming up the N7 you'd be crazy not to park in the Red Cow Park and Ride, and get the luas in from there.
You can avoid all the traffic in the city and the luas park and ride will be much cheaper than some city centre car park.

If coming up the N11, park the car in Leopardstown Park and Ride, and get the luas in from there to St green and walk to abbey street and the red line the rst of the way.

If coming up the M3, you have Dunboyne Park and Ride, and the train brings you right in to Sherriff Street/IFSC

If coming in the M4, you have the Park and Ride in Maynooth, though I believe it can only hold a hundred or so car spaces so you might have difficulty getting a space on a workday

If coming in the M1, park in the Long term carpark and get a Dublin Bus from Dublin airport or park in Swords and get the Swords Express - http://www.swordsexpress.com/timetable.php

If coming in the N2 ,you have the Ashbourne Park and Ride, never seen it but a website gives the impression exists - http://www.parkopedia.ie/park_and_ride/ashbourne/parking/

Thanks to all for the help.

I reckon its drive and park in the Jervis St Car Park. I could go to Maynooth but last train back is 23:17 and just might be a bit tight. I checked Dunboyne to Docklands, no late trains at all, last one at 21:06. Not a great service it seems.

    Again, my thanks to all!
