    http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16834230089

I'm in America at the minute and thinking of buying the above. Not sure if the link will work in Ireland, so the specs are:

    Core i5 2410m, 6gb ram, 1gb gt540m gpu, 750gb 7200rpm hdd.

The cost is 750 dollars, which Google tells me is around 530 euro. Seems like a pretty good deal to me.

It'd be used for moderate gaming, probably 3-4 year old games mostly. Some web design, Photoshop and android development.

Anything bad about it? I've heard the optimus gpu technology has/had some glitches. Also, anything to be wary of buying in America for use in Ireland?

    Cheers

EDIT: More searching has found a competing laptop. The MSI FX620DXUS - http://www.bhphotovideo.com/bnh/controller/home?O=productlist&sku=776922&Q=&is=REG&A=details

Same spec except the hard drive, which isn't a major problem. It seems that through newegg I'd have to pay sales tax, bringing the order above $800. With BH I don't seem to have to pay the tax, and with a speedier delivery option the order is coming to $773.

Strange that I cant find any reviews on that laptop , especially on notebookreview.com i usually always go to them first as their reviews are top!

Specs wise it seems like a very decent Price , considering that here something like that would cost the Dollar equivalent Closest Spec'd machine I could Find

about Build quality and such I dont like buying in the dark , usually Read up on a few reviews

that might help a little ,
as for gaming , Looks Like it should cope ok with most modern games and should tear up ones a few years old!

Yup, the laptop isn't even listed on Asus' website. Might make drivers etc. a bit of a bother.

Had a closer look at the MSI, the hard drive is lower capacity and slower speed, probably something I'd regret skimping on soon enough.
