    Hi all,

Having a problem with the net at the mo. The connection itself is fine as it's working on all other devices.

I connect to the WiFi network - get an ip address, dns, etc. I can ping everything, can download virus updates, etc. But I can't browse to sites. I've tried using Chrome and IE.

I disabled Windows Firewall, ran SpyBot but still no joy.

I booted into Safe Mode with networking and the net works no problem. Can browse everything!

I've ran HijackThis but can't really make sense of the output.

Could anyone shed some light on the situation?

    Thanks!

try a scan with superanti spyware, also check that your browsers are not set to use a proxy.

    Hello,

Thanks for your valuable question. Your computer specs looks good. Please do a speed test on your computer and another one from your friend's computer.
Is your wireless network secured? How many people are sharing the broadband connection in your network? If others are utilizing a huge amount of bandwidth in your network, streaming videos, downloading huge files specially using P2P programs, these can be the issue.

Thanks a lot for your help!

I'm assuming you've already tried resetting the router?

try running an ip release then renew in command prompt as well as an ipconfig /flushdns

I doubt that'll work but still worth doing just for the process of elimination.

If it worked in safe mode with networking then I'd also take a look at the programs that're set to run at startup - check if there's anything out of the ordinary there that could cause a network conflict.
