I opened a new current account with EBS this week. They are now offering a MasterCard Debit instead of Laser which can be used in store and online all around the world:

Might be useful for someone who is looking to ditch their Laser card!

Permanent TSB & Ulster Bank (Bank Of Ireland soon) all offer a VISA debit card as standard which is pretty much the exact same as the card you mentioned. Very handy indeed!

    And with EBS you get

Your first 5 withdrawals free from EBS fees each month*, by ATM or in branch (cash or cheques) if you –

    1. lodge €1,500 to your account each month. This could be your salary, for example, or could be made up of several small lodgements, or
    2. maintain a minimum balance of €500 in your account each month

    5?? free withdrawals..
and after that 0.30 eur per withdrawal..

Ulster / PTSB dont charge anything for atm withdrawals.
