How do I get the search function to use google.ie (not google.co.uk)?

Does anyone know how I can get my google search to use google.ie by default? I have 'Use My Location' selected in Settings > Search > Google Search, and the phone knows I'm in Ireland (the location changes on my clock when I move location). Still it uses google.co.uk for searches. Any ideas? I've a HTC Desire running…
