Cost of education payment

Was recently accepted for a place in September, now from what I was able to work out I will not qualify for a student maintenance grant, nor do I need one really as my other entitlements will be enough to see me through.

From what I could work out from the welfare site, I will need to switch from job seekers to BTEA which is the same thing under a different name and won't have to sign on the office for the duration of my course? What I was not able to clearly understand was the criteria for the cost of education payment which will be badly needed, what I concluded was if you are on the BTEA you automatically qualify for the other payment

Any comments to clear this up would be most welcome, thanks.

It's a €500 payment you receive at the beginning of the academic year.

It's automatic as far as I know, there was no extra form or anything for me to fill in.

One other thing I will say is that if you've had some dodgy experiences at the office don't expect it to continue, since I started on the BTEA everything has been extremely straightforward compared to when I was going for the JSB. :)
