So I finally got around to applying for a truck licence, What I'd like to know is if there is a period of time I have to wait before I sit the full C licence after passing the provesional or can I apply for it straight away?

    Thanks in advance for replys

Sorry also do I just study the ordinary rules of the road book, or is their one particular for trucks

since sept last year you now have to sit 2 CPC exams and another on the day of your test. You must pass these CPC tests before you can apply for your test.

so after i get the provesional, I sit the 2 cpcs on the same day as the provesional or full licence test, does that mean i could sit the full test as soon as possible then with no restictions on amount of lessons or time

you must firstly get your learner permit, you then must apply for you CPC tests, try and schedule the 2 one after the other. Then you can get a date for your driving test and there will be another CPC test on the day, just a verbal test. Its a disgraceful money racket to be honest, each CPC costs around 70 euro as far as i can remember

Once you have a full B licence,
You do your theory test for the lorry once that is passed you get your provisional licence.
Now maybe a few lessons and apply for cpc which is now in four parts which includes the lorry driving test.
    Part 1,cpc truck-multi choice questions.
    Part 2,cpc truck-Case studies
These 2 parts have to be passed before you can move on to part 3.
Part 3,cpc practical test-aka (the driving test)
    Part 4,cpc practical knowledge.
There's a bit more but that's the jist of it.
Just to give you a time frame i applied for cpc part 1/2 test on the 23rd of march and had part 3/4 tests pasted on may 24th so about 8 weeks from start to finish.

You don't have to do the cpc to do the test.
You only need cpc to drive professionally.
So you can do the test and do the cpc later if you need it.( eg if your going to drive for a living)

You are right but i would not see the point in not doing it.But the way i took it was the op was going to maybe try it as a living

No prob. But there are exemptions
Eg, emergency services, driving instructors, farmers, builders etc if carrying own goods...

So say I'm emigrating to Australia, Would I need to do the CPC then or could I just skip onto the driving exam after the truck theory??
