Lazer cutting machine

I've been working with metal and acyrilic charms for the last while and place a lot of orders with suppliers for pre-existing designs in their collection. Now I would like to do my own designs.
I know there's companies that you can order designs from and get them in bulk for a decent enough price, however, I'm toying with the item of investing into a machine myself. I am prepared to put in a decent amount of money into this (as I would probably head down the supply route myself after this venture) and just wondering where to start.

I'd want my designs to look like this http://printsess.com/metal.htm
I've found a couple cutting machines online and on ebay but i'm not sure how you go about the colour of the charms.

Don't know if anyone here will be able to point me in the right direction but figured I'd try. Any advice is welcome

(and I am also open to alternative suggestions please!)
