Bus Eireann Booked Wrong Ticket Type Online

    sorry if this has been covered somewhere...

    my mate booked tickets for 4 of us Dublin to Waterford but he accidentally booked 1 Day Return instead of a normal Return (comin bak next day).

    both tickets are the same price but will it be easy to get the ticket changed or will i (read: my mate) have to buy another one???

    Tell the driver when collecting your tickets or if in busaras see an inspector and ask them what you should do, have you tried cancelling and rebooking, but that may take forever to process?

    They will do nothing for you they will say it's in the ts and cs that ticket sales are final and can't be changed. Happened me before!

    Firstly a day return is €2 cheaper than a monthly return.

    The internet warrants can only be exchanged for the exact ticket bought so you will have to get a day return in exchange.

    If you go to the ticket office or preferably an inspector in Busaras and explain the mistake they should issue you an excess for the €2 difference along with the day return to cover the return journey on the next day.

    If the dates are wrong then that is correct, the confirmation code cannot validate and we have strict instructions not to issue tickets in exchange for unvalidated warrants. In this case a new ticket has to be bought and you can apply to the web sales to get a refund on the unused internet ticket.

    Buy another and apply for a refund on the first one. Takes about 10 days.

    thats exactly what i did although i was told that they not really suppose to do it...
