My sister recently broke my Sennheiser CX300 II earphones.

I was looking at maybe upgrading to the 500's? There about 20 pounds on Amazon. Are they worth it?

I was also looking at the Brainwavz M1 IEM earphones.

Anyone had any experience with these ones??

I'd also love to hear if anyone has any other earphones worth suggesting?

    Cheers lads.

    Cheers lads.

I recently busted an expensive pair of in ear phones No 2 son got me in the U S. I was on the road to Sligo at the time and dropped in to Argos in Longford and bought a pair of Skull Candy phones for the paltry sum of €15 to tide me over till I got the expensive ones repaired.
Have to say I was pleasantly surprised, really good quality sound (I listen to orchestral music with a wide dynamic range). Don't expect Bose quality but for €15 they are more than adequate for everyday listening. 928-4566 is the Argos number (Black). They are worth having as a back up.

Thanks for heads up but I'm looking more towards a main pair as opposed to a backup pair!

    soundmagic pl50
    brainwavz m2
    meelec m11+

Though if you could splash out a little more look at the head direct re0 or meelec a151.

Are the M2s worth the extra 10 pounds??

The reviewer compared the brainwavz m2 sound favourably with other models that are considered the best under $100 and some that cost above. I don't own them or have tried them but from the glowing review and tempting price point I'd say they should be fairly nice, bass emphasis but has good mids and decent treble.

Another plus for them is the near right angled jack which looks stronger to my eye than most of what I own, generally I've found that it's the weak point and most likely part to fail but it looks solid. It could be better but it's certainly an better than some models which cost double or triple the price and have puny straight jacks. It's even got a solid case for them.

Only fault is the strain relief's on the earpieces being a bit long (which means their stronger) so they mightn't be that comfortable at times. That means you can't really stick them in deep and get good isolation. But it'll still be far better than your past sennheisers.

    They're £35 here or $60 here

The meelec m11+ aren't meant to be as good sounding, too much emphasis on the bass which affects the mids and treble. The reviewer is fond of treble over bass so it could be his personal bias. They do however seem to be able to offer the better fit and accessories compared to the m2. And seem to be compatible with some iphones/android phones.

From the review I wouldn't be sold on them, sound signature isn't my type, the accessories and supposed comfortable fit might tempt me but my order of preference would be: sound, build quality, isolation and accessories.

The pl50 looks the most well built, it's got a 90 degree jack and looks the most solid of the 3. It's comforting to know you've got something well built after paying your money. The sound is also something that would appeal to me, it's meant to be fairly smooth with nothing overpowering the others.

They aren't meant to offer the isolation of the others as they don't insert very deep but due to their size they're meant to be nice to wear for long periods. I sometimes sleep with my IEMS in so to have something comfortable would be a plus. I'm fairly certain others here have these and can give more info that I can on the pl50s.

Just to say this is my interpretation of the reviews of another so I may be completely wrong.

Thanks man. You really know your stuff!

Are MP4 nation reputable when it comes to legit products V fake ones?

If I order off of Amazon (through mp4 nation) will it take nearly a month I am hearing they take if you order from the actual mp4nation site?

Baza210 has bought from them in the where to buy sticky so I'd imagine they're reliable. The slow shipping and the delivery times is the only downside. Dealextreme are the guys who sell knock off clones but I'm fairly certain mp4nation are reliable as they have a forum there and should people have issues there would be some sort of feedback.

I'm not sure about the amazon.co.uk speed of delivery but since they have super saver delivery it should be faster than the 10 to 25 days listed on mp4nation for delivery to europe. Just depends on whether you want to save the fiver difference.

MP4nation ... yeah, they are legit, but don't be surprised if delivery takes more than a month. I would suggest somewhere more local if possible.

And don't buy CX300s, CX500s, or anything made by Skullcandy. The suggestions yimsrg listed are much better.
