agencies - am I being paranoid

I uploaded my cv on Monster few days ago, and got bombarded with Agency calls. What surprised me is that most of them were talking about the same two jobs (excess of 10 calls in two days)
I went on irishjobs and I found one of the jobs few of the agents were talking and it states no agency applications????
It seems to me that agents are saying that they are looking for someone for a position, that they have no agreement with the employer and if the employer doesn’t want agency application then this will reduce your chances of getting it! (well, you won’t get chance at all). Do some agents just look on irishjobs and then start sending applications?

It also was very annoying that I stated I don't want to be contacted by phone, only email and they all called! I had to switch off my phone in work.

Most didn't bother reading my cv either.

    Good luck with that.

Am I being unreasonable then? I mean if you want to deal with someone would it not be fair to expect to make it suitable for both parties way?

I have my CV on Monster too and I have it set on my profile that I am only interested in US based jobs, I also state this in my quote on the top of my profile and on my CV. However, I get almost daily emails from dublin recruiters asking if I am interested in work.

That happened to me too, in the end I just uploaded a copy of my CV without my mobile number and since then I just get emails.
