The IAAF and the girl she just beat in a finish dont have a problem with it so who are we to question:

    http://www.guardian.co.uk/sport/2010/jul/07/jenny-meadows-caster-semenya

Im wondering will Semenya ever chase times anymore. Seems to sit in last first lap and just do enough to win.

I know she has been cleared and all but people will not forget. I mean the Semenya incident in Berlin got more attention than Bolts double world record. It really does look like a man has joined in the race for a laugh.

Would you mind refraining from comments like the above?

She has been cleared. She shouldnt have to put up with low level jibes from comedians anymore. That girl has been through enough.

The problem for Semenya is there's a good chance she could break 1'50" for the 800. From what I can see, she had been underperforming so far this season, so that it seems a fair race. Much like the East German 'women' in the 80s, any records she breaks will have an asterix beside them.

I doubt the IAAF would have cleared her before she ran in the world champs, but once the genie was out of the bottle, they had to bow to political correctness and let her run
    .

Do you feel that gender slurs and abuse by 'laughs at their own joke' comedians against that girl's sexuality are warranted?

If you feel that the debate about whether she should be allowed to compete in female competitions needs to continue then continue it by all means: I believe there is a dedicated thread for it.

But the debate should be carried out without using the cheap shot of unwarranted and undeserved personal attack.

Mod: I am closing this thread as agree the comments made are not appropriate to the topic, coupled with this DL finishing and another one on today there is no reason to keep this thread open - Roll on Birmingham
