As someone who is always pulling either his quad or groin (bad hip) I can't recommend the McDavid straps enough, I got them from Amazon http://www.amazon.co.uk/Mcdavid-475R-Groin-Strap-Black/dp/B000K330B8/ref=sr_1_1?ie=UTF8&qid=1310204287&sr=1-1

I find them to be very good because you can adjust them and put them wherever you want up along the muscle depending on what you are protecting, I have 2 of them, 1 for when I'm playing and the other for the days afterwards for recovery. Cleaning is a doddle as well, I usually just bring them into the shower with me, clean them and leave them hanging over the shower door.

I thought he meant groin protection in the form of a cup?

Fair enough then, I've never had a problem with Amazon so that'd be a good place to buy that protection, jockstrap I think is the technical name for them, I don't know if I'd like to risk a second hand 1 from ebay :D
