HI, i am about to return to work from maternity leave and had been full-time. unfortunately when i go back I'll only be working 2 days a week for a total of 8 hours. i know i will be entitled to JSB but as my partner works the lady on the info line said he could also claim FIS without it affecting my claim? We have 4 children and i know we work out at E20 over the limit for BTSCFA :( so i dont see how claiming FIS would work any differently

The upper limit for BTSCFA appears to be €653.the upper limit for FIS is €824 (for a couple with 4 children).JSB is not means tested

Have a look here for FIS waiting times, it takes ages. Try make sure you have your application perfect before you apply.

If it your first time applying for FIS it will take about 16-18 weeks.
Fis will take your spouse's income plus your wage and JSB into account .as mentioned the income limit for 4 kids is €824 so if your under this amount FIS pay 60% of the difference.
