Anyone have a Reynolds 531 Frame for sale? If not could anyone point me in the right direction as to where I could buy one?

    Any help would be amazing.

I think Humphries in Finglas have a 531pro hanging up with a few of the other old steel frames

I have a 1994, 21 inch, Claud Butler Criterium. Has 531 main frame tubes (not forks and stays). It also has shimano exage/600 groupset in perfect working order but needs a clean. Exage/Mavic wheels (bearings are rough). Hasn't been ridden for about 6 years. Was thinking of taking pics and posting an ad (I might yet!) so if there's any interest that'll save me the bother....€100 ono (or if you convince me that you want it for a genuine reason, I am really trying to make space in the shed so....)

Is it just me or since this ad has gone up has there been an unusually large amount of reynolds frames floating about?

There sure seems to be a lot of these frames. They never died, just took a rest. And there is an undefinable beauty to them. I must try to get to Humphries in Finglas next time in Dublin and have a look. I have a lovely, expensive carbon bike but would still love another nice, steel one, 531 or columbus.

Just been checking and the best Reynolds is now 953 and the best Columbus is Spirit. Oh no, I've fallen behind the times, gotta start researching again. Is anybody racing on 953 or Spirit?

'Best' is a very suggestive word.
A good frame builder will assess your needs and advise you what steel material is best for you.
For many, 953 or other stainless is not suitable for what they want.

Since it was offered to the OP and this is his thread you should probably wait to see if he wants it.

I cannot seem to attach photos. If anyone wants them, they can pm their email address and I think i can send them that way.

    I don't want to waste anyone's time so I will point this out about the bike;

    1. The groupset is Shimano Exage (derailleurs are exage ex 300), not 600
has stated before, my mistake, sorry.

    2. When putting together last night I noticed the seatpost is ceased in the frame.

    3. Front wheel bearings are very rough, rear wheel cones are loose (probably a bearing problem too, the bike has all original, old parts)

    4. Saddle is torn

    5. A few rust spots on it, only surface

    6. groupset works well but rear derailleur cable, at least, needed
    immediately.

    7. As said in earlier post, only main frame tubes are 531, forks and stays are not.

    8. 21 inches from top of seat tube to BB

    9. I'm no good at the hard sell!
