First time doing "the Green Sheds" last night. What a cracking circuit. Great surface, loads of space, much much safer than the Mullagh or the Brittas route, and I'd say an absolute flier of a lap in the dry.

Fair play to all (of those who worked ;)) in semi limit and kept us away from the pursuit posse's. I think I'm getting to know, or at least recognise, some of the boardsies (boarders?)

    Boardsies.

I was delighted to see your name in the placings (3rd!), you worked well and raced aggressively and you got your reward. Nice one!

Yep, fantastic keeping scratch at bay, and at a fair old gallop around a sodden circuit too. The up'n'overs (unders?) from the left side to the right, in the middle of the main road were a bit bemusing though.

It's a serious lesson in multi-tasking. Watch left, watch right, watch in front, watch the road, watch the gaps, suck in the gut everytime you come around for the photographers... :D

Went off in Limit with very little enthusiasm I have to admit, not a fan of the rain. We didn't do a lot really, there was an IRC lad and an orwell lad sharing the work the whole way down to the roundabout, and we were quite content to let them. I put in a dig there to try and split it up, and those 2 and Steven Hayden and I formed a group of 4 before the bridge over the motorway. Again let the other 2 do all the work back onto the main road where the IRC lad went off down the road a bit and us 3 let him dangle him out there into the headwind on his own for a bit and did a few U&Os before catching him again before the roundabout. Coming up the finish line on the first lap we could see the swarm approaching so tried to get the speed up a bit to let us stay with them, which we did when they caught us around the back twisty bit.
Managed to stay up in the front 10-15 along the way back to the finish straight and was delighted to discover that I had legs enough to take 4th, while Steven got 2nd. Not too shabby for limiters considering we were not really working to stay away! Steve said he came off my wheel and looked down at his speedo to see we were doing 65km/h coming to the finish!!!!!!!

But I reckon I saw about 40% of things at best, what with the rain coming down, the spray coming up, and my eyes stinging from probably a combination of sweat and hairgel. Was horrible - and my feet were in 2 puddles the whole way around.

Meanwhile my wife tells me they were sitting outside drinking wine with shades on in the City Center :(

Well done on the 3rd place - that was me who chased yourself and DirkVoodoo down on the main road, and who you asked where the fecking roundabout was!

Really struggled on the first lap last night, pace was very hot and I could feel the training I'd done during the week in the legs.

Got a second wind then on the second lap, pace settled a little bit, and was feeling good towards the end. Went too soon again - spent too much effort chasing things down that I shouldn't have. Ah well, learning experience.

Thought the group worked really well again last night, plenty of people doing enough work for us to stay away again.

Oh right! I thought it was Dirkvoodoo I was barking at until I looked around :). Yeah you went very early alright. It's a long ol' run up from the roundabout. In hindsight there was no need to chase that lone breakaway rider on the main road like that, there was no way he was staying away on his own.

Feck it, I'm of the Icarus school of thought - fly close to the sun and if you burnout, so be it! :D

You the chap with the dark grey/black alfa GT?

Lead car was as close to racing as I'll get for a while, but looking at Semi Limit, I thought you'se were working okay and did a reasonable amount of work to stay away.

Was a miserable enough start to the race, but fair play to all who turned out.

    Aye.

It's still surprising how quick the bunch is. Got caught out first time at the roundabout when a car came from the road where no one ever comes from.

Yep, Alfa is mine. Sleek, stylish and sexy...but looks faster than it is. Nothing like me of course.
