    Just got an email from paypal saying the following,

    We're constantly working to make PayPal safer, simpler and more convenient for you. This means that from time to time we have to make changes to the terms of our User Agreement and other documents. To keep you informed we've posted some updates we'll be making soon on our website.

    What do I need to do?

    1. Click here to read the Policy Update or type www.paypal.co.uk into a new browser window, go to ‘Legal Agreements’ at the bottom of the page and then click ‘Policy Update’.

    2. Please read the Policy Update carefully. It contains important legal information about when and how the changes to our User Agreement will become effective.

    3. If you agree to the changes, you don’t need to do anything as any updates will automatically come into effect. If you do not wish to accept the changes, we’ve also provided you with the steps you need to take on the Policy Update page.

    Please note that the current User Agreement will apply until these changes take effect.

    Yours sincerely,

    PayPal

    Any chance they could issue a summary of the changes ?
    I read through the article today and have no idea what it's about!

    It's not fake, because if you look at it you'll see they used your name. Spam never uses your name, because they won't know your name. Official emails will be addressed to you personally.

    Seems like it's nothing to worry about, they're not looking for your kidneys or your first born or anything like that.

    Its ok to delete the email , and it is genuine from Paypal .- If you go to your Paypal homepage and click on policy updates , the same info is there too .

    Policy updates this time round are nothing major, just some amendments to wording, and also a fee structure change, and a fee change on echeques.
    They are now:
    if you register a credit card or debit card with PayPal, we will use card authorisation and fraud screening services to verify that your card information and address match the information you supplied to PayPal, and that the card has not been reported as lost or stolen.
    PayPal’s risk of liability in respect of card-funded payments that you receive can last until the risk of a Chargeback closing in favour of the payer/buyer (as determined by card scheme rules) has passed
    you will not: Cause PayPal to receive a disproportionate number of Claims that have been closed in favour of the claimant regarding your Account or business
    … Allow your Account to have a balance reflecting an amount owing to us;
    Undertake activity that does or may present to us a credit or fraud risk, a sudden increase in exposure, or a significant or otherwise detrimental level of exposure (as PayPal reasonably believes based on the information available to it);
    … Request or send a Personal Transaction payment for a Commercial Transaction; or
    PayPal Business Payments are not eligible for PayPal seller protection.

    There is now a fee to transfer money to an recipient using the ' personal- payment owed ' category .

    To send €100 to someone , there is a fee of €3.75 .

    You can tick a box and have the option to pay this yourself or have the recipient pay .
