i've had a tiler do 92m2 of wall and floor porcelain tiles. he supplied the adhesive and reckons he used 23 x 20kg bags. Does this sound reasonable? it's a newbuild so the floors are nice and level. I'm just confused because the tile supplier only reckoned we'd need 6 bags!

Average for PERFECT floors would be 20kg bag to five meters2. It would not be unusal to have to put down extra adhesive to ensure levels are correct even on floors that look level. It is differnt thing when you are on your knees looking at a floor trying to get tiles straight. Floors that look level may not be as level as you think. 23 bags would be ball park for this amount of tiles esp if they were large format.

that is reassuring. when you are a first time house builder it's all a bit confusing
