You'll be launching rockets with it!!

Seriously though, the processor/graphics is a bit more important than the RAM for a lot of things - depending on your requirements. If it's a netbook I can assume its got an Atom or similiar processor and that's your real bottleneck (But you know that don't you)
Netbooks aren't designed to be super powerful so its more likely that the extra RAM won't make that much difference to you.

It depends more on the Processor, Graphics Chip and Performance settings in Windows 7 to be honest.
It also depends on what you mean by "With ease".

It'll run it alright, but you'll probably have to run it on low performance options.

Doubled the ram on a hp 110 netbook, from 1gb to 2gb, Made a big difference considering 7 starter used about 600-700 meg of ram just being turned on!
    Well worth the upgrade.

Yes it will run Windows 7 Premium with ease, and most netbooks have a decent enough onboard graphics chip to run most of the fancy GUI stuff (Windows 7 will automatically detect what will and won't work and set itself up accordingly). In general you'll notice everything will run a lot quicker and smoother and it'll be a far nicer experience.

I've just installed win7 ultimate on an Asus 1005HA netbook with 2Gb RAM. The CPU was running at 90-100% constantly until I changed the performance settings and disabled all of Win7's fancy graphics. Now CPU is running at an average 20%

I honestly think you are wasting your money.

Can I ask what are the specs of the netbook you have? What operating system have you on it?

It's running brilliant for me on 2GB of RAM
I also have a 1.9 GHz Processor and a pretty shite GPU.

Although a upgrade from 1 to 2 won't be massive, it should run with ease.

What type of RAM is it that you are getting? is it DDR3? or the big DDR5?

I dont think an atom processor will run win 7 premium (with all features turned on) too sharpish to be honest even with 2 gig of ram.
You'll need (or rather it will itself) turn off some features as someone above has stated.

Then you've got to think about the other apps running on top of it.

Some costs here of premium but there are other avenues to get it through, possibly a bit cheaper. To be honest however, I dont think its worth buying it to stick on a netbook.

If its DDR2, you should notice a moderate difference, it should run smoother with less time being wasted loading programs and what not.

No such thing as DDR5, only GDDR5 which is a standard for graphics cards not regular RAM.
