    Hi,
Had a couple of new qualceram toilets fitted three years ago. The wooden seats are now chipped and sport chrome hinges that are a speckled green mess. I'm looking to replace the seats with hard plastic lids and stainless steel hinges that won't look like gunk in three years. Anybody got a recommendation to share?
    Thanks

Celmac do a seat called rondo. Its available through RT Large in ireland. DPL will order from RT Large for you

Its a stainless steel hindged seat with solid thermoplastic and soft buffers. It will cost you about 50 euro but its seriously the dogs. Its simple to look at but very very durable.

Just dont make the mistake everyone makes.

Do not put bleach in your bowl at night and close the seat. The chlorine gas give off actually causes the seats to turn yellow not pee. seats are make to be pee resistant.

additionally. every time you clean the bathroom smear a bit of vasaline on the hindge it will keep it looking well for years.

ps: you might need to do a template of the toilet to check a standard seat fits. However if its a standard bowl then rondo is a standard seat.

There is a lot of dark timber seats around at the moment. The thing is it might not match yours. Sonas or usher bathrooms is quite good

Bemis do a lovely wood seat in dark or antique pine, good quality hinges, and very comfortable, feels like it's molded to my contour, and it's large. :D

Aldi were selling white coloured anti bacterial soft close toilet seats for 16 euro a while back.

I bought 2 (bathroom and ensuite).

They are the mutts nutts and for that price,a no brainer. My young daughter has tested out the soft close feature on many occasions now, while trying to slam the toilet seat shut.:D

Bought them as well. For the exact same reason. However they only come in white.

They had them in a greyish colour too.Funnily enough, all the white ones sold out really fast, and alot of those greyish ones were left on the stands.

They will probably sell them off at one of their warehouse clearence sales soon, for about 10 euro each.
