Mechanics, what air gun do you use.

Need a new 1/2" air gun (impact wrench, whatever).

I don't know what to go for this time round. Sick of the cheap ones. Although the draper one I've had recently was a very good gun considering it's price and draperness.

Anyway, I'm willing to spend around the 5 - 600 mark. Lightweight and powerful. I'm sick of not being able to open crankshaft bolts so the torque needs to be good. I am interested to hear what other mechanics use and how they find them. Specs on paper are all well and good but you can't beat a bit of first hand experience.

    Well, any advice?

I use a Wurth 1/2" premium impact gun. Max torque is 814nm. Its extremely reliable its being in the garage about 8 years well before my time and rarely oiled. It still works no problem. Thing is some of them crankshaft bolts on Fords can be seriously tight and not even a match for its 814nm:(

Wouldn't be a massive fan of snap-on but they have a good reputation.

    one on ebay

Ingersoll Rand have a very good reputation and I have used both 3/4 and 1'' guns and they are very impressive IMO

I use the Snap On AT555, great gun - strong and light. You should get one for new for under 200.
