Was with my girlfriend for 22 months until we broke up 2months ago,

We are both good friends and talk to each other but we would have been going out 2 years on monday, she was always into sentimental things as was i.I would like to send her a card to let her know i have still feelings for her but dont know if she feels the same.

This is not the only reason i want to send her the card,i would just like to let her know that i did appreciate her and that i know i took her for granted. We both had a part to play in the breakup of the realtionship,no other party was involved.

Should i send the card but at the same time i dont want to look to needy or pushy,i was heartbroken at the start but have got over that but at the same time i dont want to have regrets that i didnt try to get our relationship back on track.

Have found this forum to really help so id like help on this matter

I suppose you could send a card, something along the lines of "Thanks for everything" or the like. Could be a way of wrapping it up that helps close off your regrets.

If the breakup was mutual between the two of ye, then I dont see why you cant say thanks for the fun ye had but just keep it short.

It all depends on who broke up with who?

    Mutual decision - send card.
    Her decision - send card.
Your decision - don't send card.

OP, I'm inclined to say move on. The card idea seems a bit strange. You're no longer in that relationship so I'm not really sure that the 2 year anniversary counts as it's commemorating something that doesn't exist anymore.

Otherwise, why can't you just say what you've told us to her seeing as you're good friends still? It's hard to say much more as only you know why you broke up.

I'd say that if you talk to her, then ask her in person what she'd think about trying to fix the break. Tell her how much you appreciate her, everything in fact that you told us here.

If you were still going out, a nice card telling her how much you thought of her and valued her would be very appropriate. You're friends now. It's a different story I think. Just sit down and chat with her.

I wouldn't send the card but maybe a text or a phone call explaining the things you said in your post? If your afraid of what she might say a text would do!

    Thanks for the replies,

The reason i cant bring myself to chat face to face with her is the fear she will reject the notion of getting back together. We had a chat a few days after we broke up but i think things were kinda raw then.i was the one pushing for us to get back together but she said she needed time on her own.we where living in my house together with 2 other people and it was kinda a balls.

She is the type of person who really doesnt let her emotions get the better of her whereas i kinda like to meet things head on.

@mitch it is a thank you card that i am sending and have a draft made.i have just mostly said how i took us for granted, there was no real arguments,we just got into a bit of a rut id say

i have mentioned that i have still feelings for her but that i know there is nothing i can do or say to change or mind.I do appreciate her cos she has matured me as a person,i was a bit wild up until i met her

    Hello guys,

I sent the letter and she sent me a text to say how much she appreciated the letter.

She said the usual stuff about being content on her own but doesnt know how shel feel in the future,I told her not to hesitate to contact me if she thinks that we could get back together in the future,I will not be getting back in touch with her even though we have remained friends,I feel like I have done all the chasing so i know that it has to be her decision now

    Thanks
