    Hi Guys

My one parent family payment was granted in April and I was advised that I would shortly recieve arrears owed to me dating back to Oct 2010. This is now july and as I havent heard anythin else about it I called today to find out when I should be paid these. The girl told me that none of the arrears payments were being processed as the person that looked after this was on long term sick leave so she couldnt tell me when my payment would be issued. Is there some one I can make a complaint to about this surely if somebody goes on long term leave and people are due payments these need to be looked at. I have borrowed money that I was going to pay back with this payment and am now under pressue to pay this money back. Any advise would be greatly appreciated

When I made a claim for one parent family payment back in 2003 I had to wait 16 months for the back payment to come through. It might be faster now but I have my doubts.

Ask to speak to that persons supervisor and see if they can allocate your file to someone else. It might speed things up a bit.
