I'm in market for new laptop and have spotted a Packard Bell with spec for my price range. anyone any thoughts on Packard Bell laptops, any known problems etc. I'm looking at the TS13-HR-035UK, 4GB ram, 500HD, Intel i3. I've no experience of Packard. tks

They wouldn't be the top brand around. I wouldn't buy one for myself, I don't like the feel of them either.

They arn't listed in the graph on that site, but they are owned by Acer also not a great brand.

Do you have a link to where you are buying the laptop or the price?
You can find some very good deals on this site

tks for that. its coming in at 479e in PC Wor!d and nothing else around that price has the core i3 or a 500HD. Bit reluctant to buy online purely due to what happens when theres a problem. So far I've had 2 Dells which had virtually everything in them replaced (twice in some cases) and a HP which had HD die after few months. only good thing about all those laptop problems is that now know who to replace hardware myself and computers aren't a "mystery" to me anymore.

You should very unlucky tbh. I have a 2.5 year old Dell, my brother has a Dell, 2 of my cousins and none of us have any problems with them.

If you were willing to go online you will get some good deals, just found one at same price as the one your looking at. i3 probably the same or better, it's got dedicated graphics card, bigger hard drive.
