Hitching from Cork to Dublin - best place?

I'm trying to hitch up to Dublin from Cork on Saturday, but can't figure out the best place for it. It needs to be within walking distance of the centre or within reach of a city bus service. Also it needs to have some place for cars to pull over (like a petrol station). Thanks

It's a hard one because the road to Dublin is a motorway so its hard to find another spot where all the traffic is going to dublin

Yeah ask in the Cork forum, you never know someone might be heading to Dublin and they'll offer you a lift.

Or the Dublin forum; someone might be coming back from Cork.
In general, petrol stations are the best bet as you can actually talk to people outside of their cars and there's a better chance of them engaging with you, realising you're probably not a mentaller and bringing you for a spin.

Parnell Place, there's these really big cars where you can buy a ticket and they'll give you a lift.

There's two petrol stations here together, so it's probably your best bet. They're the last petrol stations before Dublin unless you come off the motorway so should be fairly easy. Get the no. 8 outside the 3 Store on Patrick Street (close to Easons, across from Brown Thomas) and it will take you there.

Yes because a four and a half hour spin thats costs money is MUCH better than a free one that takes 2 and a half hours.
