Quick Question about Importing a Car from Uk.

I have found a car in the UK that suits my needs,it's old and cheap and VRT is low. I have looked at the NCT website and their requirements but see a small stumbling block. They say I need to produce a invoice/receipt for the purchase of the car. The car is only £1200 and the guy wants cash for it.I have spoken to him on the phone and he laughed at my request for a receipt and said all he could do was write up a note with the details of the transaction and sign it.Is this acceptable. Surely for a car so cheap the would understand that I can't get a proper receipt/invoice?

That's perfectly acceptable in my experience

Funnily enough I've had a couple of cars show up at around €430.

Not sure why but I'll report one on here whenever it happens again

I imported a bike recently. Wrote out my own bill of sale at the NCT centre!
