It's a pretty ingenious scheme in a way. The embarrassing nature of the circumstances might cause men to be reluctant to report the crime. That said, bringing them back to your house isn't too smart for when one does go to the cops.

In a way, it's brilliant. Most men aren't going to come forward and say that they've been conned and they'll just let it slide.

But, really, what the hell were the men thinking (particularly the 55-year old)? The younger man maybe just thought he was going back to someone's house for a bit of fun, but did the elder man seriously think that he was (1) genuinely going to get a threesome, and (2) with two women half his age?! Well then clearly you are not a handsome and athletic twentysomething year old guy. Although I recon a reference to that demographic is irrelevant as I don't recall the article linked in the OP showing any pictures of either of the 2 reported victims.

I don't find the method for reeling in the victims odd. Many men and women are regularly engaged in casual sex and an age difference doesn't nessecarily have to come into account. I wouldn't consider it normal, but I wouldn't think it is too far fetched either. Other then the pretence of a threesome, nothing further was disclosed about how these crimes were set up or the build up of attackers propositioning the victims, let alone picking them out. There would have been a lot more to it than just going up to some bloke and saying "Fancy a threesome with my slutty girlfriend at my place?"

No, I'm handsome and athletic 30 something year old, maybe the girls of my age are a bit more reserved, but I've never heard of guys in their 20's or their 30's being offered threesomes, regardless of their condition!

I can't say I know that many lads in their early 20's, but from what I hear, it's common for girls leaving school these days to be with girls as much as guys, and this defo wasn't the case when I was leaving school and on into my 20's, so maybe girls in their 20's now are a different type of chracter altogether than the girls I know who are my own age...

I don't know about the handsome part, but a threesome was offered to me when I was about 20 (over a dozen years ago). The women were about the same age. It could come about in any number of ways, but in the vast majority of these situations the man propositioned is either going to be very good looking or very wealthy (as money vastly improves men's looks of course ). So if the man in question is an average looking 55-year-old, then yeah, I'd think he might have been more skeptical.

To be honest, i would take from the fact that you keep making mention of "class" that you are making some kind of judgement.

I am unsure how someones sexual orientation has anything to do with "class".
