    Hi
just wondering if anybody can help , i have a 2007 C180(W203) and just noticed the other day that windscreen wipers are not working.
When you turn the switch on the indicator stalk to any position(I ,II ,III) nothing happens but if you press the same stalk button for quick swipe and water jet they will work no problem
So i am wondering is it the button on the stalk or the wiper relay ???
Its not the fuse i tried that
    Any ideas ???

    Thanks

There is no way to test the switch as there is only 2 wires coming from it. A brown/red and a brown. It goes into a databus connection and then onto the fusebox in the engine bay. The two wires are not broken other wise it wouldn't work at all. They are two relays in the engine bay fuse box. These should be tested first then I'd try replace the switch. Its a simple electrical circuit.

    Thanks
is this a garage job or a DIY i could try myself ??
one other thing i noticed is that at the same time as this started to happen the drivers side electric window when you press the button to close it , unless you keep the button pressed it stops closing and you have to keep it pressed till fully closed might be nothing but just thought i would throw it in there as well

To sort that problem with the window try lifting the window up fully and release button. Then hold the button fully up for 2 to 3 seconds. It might reset. Make sure the engine is off with just ignition on.

Onto the wipers do a bit of research on testing relays. If you can't do it bring it to a garage and get them tested. If they are ok I'd put a switch in. Its not guaranteed as the databus connection could be fcuked. just try that first anyway. Test relays then replace switch if relays are ok.

Check fuse 46 and then check relay L and Q if they are listed that way.

fuse is fine. have changed relays over with 2 new change over relays. still not working.

have already changed the switch due to an indercator problem but wiper problem is there with the orignal switch aswell as the new one.

    next would be the modual??

Are your wipers working at all? It could be the module but I'd give Mercedes a ring and ask them does the module give trouble.

The fuse box used to give trouble on the Sprinters. I wonder is it the same with these?
