Excellent news if this comes off, fair play to Sturm as well.

Who does Sturm fight if there is no rematch though. Imo he needs it more than Macklin because Macklin is probably viewed as at least a good an opponent as sturm in the states, and has the paddys day thing going for him as well. The middlweight division isnt that deep so Sturm kind of needs the big matches and there is not too many people willing to travel to cologne to be treated like that.

    why back in germany?

surely the rematch should be nuetral territory. if sturm thinks mack was robbed when stay to the same dodgey country! if he seriouslt thinks he has the beating of mack come out of germany

Will Macklin take this fight?Would he not be better off going to the US,would his purse be increased much from the first fight?

Is there any substance to the story that Macklin might be fighting Martinez early next year instead?

there was a bit of talk about fighting him on St. Patricks day in New York but nothing concrete.I suppose if he gets offered both fights it will come down to money.I was talking to Macklin the day after the fight and he didnt seem on for a rematch with Sturm if it was in Cologne .

He certainly has more options than Sturm anyway and should only take a rematch in Cologne on excellent terms.

Wtf,, back in germany!!!! It would want to be a very sweet deal if that was the case. Mack has alot of options and it would have to be a huge payday to go back to the scene of the crime again.

Sturm has no other option but this really.

think he had to in a way he knew he didnt really win that fight.

not a good decision to have it in germany though

It's not going ahead now mate, Macklin is off to fight in America instead, his profile has been raised after this and he's off to make some decent money with Di Bella.

Macklin put in a great performance the first time, but I feel he would have lost easily in a rematch.
