Best netbook for my parents?

I'm looking into buying a new netbook for my parents to have at home as the desktop is on it's last legs. They both have computers at work so it's just something fairly basic I'm looking for! They'll be using it for the internet and skype mainly so a webcam is a must and a screen that isn't tiny!
I'm getting really confused with websites etc so just wondering if anyone can point me in the right direction of a good netbook? Thanks!

No small screen... Why a netbook?

Don't get a netbook. They're really for people who are travelling as they're so small.

Trying to do anything meaningful on a screen like that is torture. 13'' is the minimum I'd go.

Had terrible experiences with notebooks, may be cheap at first but hardly worth it, often slow, small low quality screens, poor build, fiddly touch pad/nipple, loud fans and heat, crap battery life. I'd go for a basic laptop with a good screen if they need Windows.

Have you considered an iPad? Does everything your parents could need skype email, surfing, photos, facebook, twitter, youtube, apps... but way easier to use touch UI, totally mobile and battery lasts weeks on sleep, couple of days heavy use on a charge.

With no plugins, anti-virus, pop-ups, windows os issues to worry about it means less troubleshooting for you, just need wifi and you're away.

jaysus that sounds chronic.. what was it? something from China?

The netbook I have is fast, good quality matte screen i can even read in full sunlight, 13 hour battery (9 hours with full video and full wifi on), completely silent, never runs hot

In fact my other two netbooks are pretty similar too, pays to read a few reviews before buying ;)

For the OP I would recommend 11.6 inch screen or bigger

    Have a look on www.saveonlaptops.co.uk

Check the clearance section too, anything with "open-box" is usually in perfect condition - v cheap too

    Something like this is fine

    good reviews, same as this

if you want bigger, there's a 13.3 inch (only drawback is very glossy screen really)
