    hi guys

before today i had sky and magic eyes in two other rooms. they came today install the sky plus box and now i only have sky in my living room and nothing in other rooms.

i went into attic and i see the sky cable going off down to the sky box which is fine, but i dont see any cable going into the input section of the amplifier up there. from what i remember shouldnt the rf2 cable go into the input of the amplifier??

are they after making a mess??

Maybe the input cable from rf2 has been knocked out from the amp, with them walking around up there, or worse, they've used the rf cable to get the 2nd signal for the sky plus box down to the living room?

they knew that i had other tvs working on it so surely he wouldnt have done this. rf is on and anyhow rf is only to get the eye working, i dont even have a picture. the cable end is still in the input socket but no cable... he must have knocked it out

Put back in a cable to input and other tvs are now working. Old remote won't work though, does the old ones not work with new box ?

Also he said 4 hours and record function would work, it's not there yet .

no , the old remotes wont work with the hd box.

you could give sky a call, i think they should be able to send signal to enable it straight away. .

Make sure your new box is set to the same rf out frequency as the old one was...or retune your TV's in the remote locations

yep - re tuned tvs after putting back in cable and back in action.

rang sky and they say they have enabled skky plus so will see later.

magic eye still not working, i have done some research and it seems that the traix ones wont work with the new boxes at all so have to buy new remote and new eye

yea i have seen similar from sky engineers! it was common for them to arrive to an existing old standard sky box install to fit a new plus box and instead of running a second downlead i have seen installs where they cut and used the terrestrial downlead or the loop back (rf2) cable was cut and used thereby disconnecting all secondary tvs in the house.

I haven't heard of traix eyes but Triax ones should be OK.

Is the LED lighting on the "eye" box? If not then you have a faulty connection or no voltage from the Digibox.

Triax magic eyes will work with the sky hd+ box no problem so Im not sure who told you that.

Make sure the cable feeding the amp/other rooms is coming from the rf2 socket at the back of your sky box. If its coming from rf1 the picture will show up but will not work.

Make sure the rf power is switched to on by pressing services, 0, 1 select and go into rf out and make sure power is switched on.

After all this is done if the magic eyes are still not working, unplug the box and plug it back in sometimes this needs to be done to get them working.

Got it going to changing rf power to off, saving settings and turning off box. Turn back on again and change rf power back to on. Turn box off and back on again and all working. Thanks for help guys

    Press [services] 001 [select] or
press [services] 401 [select] on older and non-HD models.
