Help with Goodmans sat 4 free please

I have recently installed a Goodmans sat4free HD box by using the spare ports on my sky satellite dish, it worked perfectly, all the stations tuned in and saved

I plugged the box out before going to bed, plugged it back in the next morning and all the stations are gone, it doesn't even have a signal strength percentage but its strange because the other sky box's in the house are working fine so its obviously nothing to do with the satellite being out of position and surely the stations just don't go upon plugging the box out??

Any help on this would me much appreciated.

When you say all the stations are gone, presumably you mean that you can see the channels, but there is just a blank screen?

Check the satellite cable going into the box, that the connector isn't damaged or shorted.

If this doesn't clear the fault, then try the box using a good cable from your (presumably) working other box, and see if the box works. If so, the problem is more than likely your spare cable or its connection to your dish, or the actual lnb output that the cable is connected to.

if it still doesn't work on your good cable, bring box back and get it replaced.

    thanks for the reply,

Yes i can see the channels with just a blank screen

Connector is fine and not damaged, i have already tried with other working cable to existing box and it worked but yet again when i plug the box out and plug it back in there is no signal strenght and everything is gone...

It will take 30 seconds or more for the receiver to boot up, I presume you are allowing for this?

Can you go Menu > Settings > Other? What options show up under 'Other'?

Obviously, and as the satellite(s) are 23,000 miles away there would not be much you could do if they were.

Have you tried re installing the receiver?

Why are you quoting a 4 year old post?

I would have expected better from you as that falls short of the very high standards you try to uphold with your persistent "put down" comments

Well three posts before mine have replied within the last day. It is easiy not to notice the date of even earlier posts. Did you send the same message to the other three?

The 2 posts before yours were replying to a post made the night before.

We don't drag up old threads. Especially not to start a petty argument
