Funny one: I'm moving and will have much more space, so want to upgrade to a bigger computer desk (currently using a really crappy little one I got in Argos years ago). Any recommendations of places to buy? Was thinking on Ikea, they have a Micke desk for €99 that looks good, but if anyone knows of bargains I'd be grateful to hear about them! :)

You really need to go looking to see what's available since the offerings change very often, Harvey Norman, PC World and IKEA are probably the best places to go.

IKEA has the advantage in that you can customize the desk yourself, with most other vendors there is a given package and it's a case of take it or leave it.

If you buy IKEA you'll have a fair old job assembling the drawer unit but you'll end up with a good solid desk. I have the Vika Alex with a white surface and it's rock solid, the drawers slide in and out with no friction or rattling.

yep, really there is no competition, it's got to be Ikea. Their range of desks won't be beaten.
The only place where I've seen nicer desks would be Caseys in Cork but that's because it's like a solid old style accountants desk, about the size of a snooker table complete with price tag well north of €3000
