Every week day I check the FAS website and Jobs.ie as well as doing a general Google search. However I rarely come accross any driving jobs. I have a full clean LGV C licence and have good experience driving all types of trucks and vans etc etc. Am I looking in the wrong places?
I live in the Athlone area and check the Athlone advertiser weekly, but are there any other papers I should be getting for my area.
I had an interview over a week ago for a driving job with a certain food delivery company beginning with a 'P' but it seems I was not worthy to reply to, and the time to send an email saying 'sorry you didn't get it' was just too much. But I best not get started on that, as ignorance really winds me up
    Cheers.

Try recruitment agencies but do make sure that they pay you a decent wage

Well given the state of the economy I'd say that there are not going to be many jobs about in this area. If companies are not getting sales and so on, it is unlikely that they will need a driver to ship stuff - right?

So I'd suggest a different approach: Try and figure out who is doing well these days and simply cold call on them. Key your eyes open, who's lorries are you seeing on the road and who is announcing business expansions and so on.

Also, just a thought, but how about international driving, would it be possible to may be look for jobs with companies importing goods into Ireland.

    Jim.
