As there seems to be a lot of posts complaining about delivery times from the various online mega stores, just thought I'd post something positive, from my experience, Slane Cycles is and always has been next day delivery if you get your order in before 3pm ( sometimes later if you phone them, I always give a quick call before paying to make sure its in stock anyway ).

NOTE : I have nothing to do with Slane or any bike store for that matter, and I get my stuff from all over Europe BUT if you need something in a hurry, these guys are definitely the most reliable. Just beware if you're living in some rural areas the Irish wing of GLS couriers has cut back deliveries to Mon, Weds & Fri.

In fairness, it has to be said Cyclesuperstore are also very good if they have it in stock.

So now, no more excuses for not having yer bits in time for that event !! ( which you knew about for months anyway but left it until the last moment, me in a nutshell  )

Anyone else know any other similarly speedy shops ?

Agree with the comments re Slane - You can't check stock on-line though, so if it's really important give them a ring first (they always send what they have to me and anything out of stock later, rather than waiting for the stuff to come in)

Overall I find their service as good as it gets

They use GLS/Parcel Force too! Which people seem to dislike...

The difference is Slane are in the North, so its always next day unless you're miles out in the mountains like me, where GLS deliver Mon, Weds & Fri.

Parcelforce from the UK can take 2 days or a LOT longer.

CRC is also in the north and they are a Fcukin disaster, Wiggle are a lot quicker, but no one beats Slane Cycles..

I ordered with CRC yesterday afternoon and got it delivered by GLS this morning :D

Yeah, funny though, CRC used to be really fast, next day usually but as they got bigger, things got a LOT slower, despite the state of the art facility.

As are CRC. People have a lot of complaints about GLS, Some people complaining about CRC have even said themselves the package was dispatched on time but just took ages to get to them, which puts GLS/Parcel Force to blame. Best off going to an LBS if you need something. You can never rely on courier/postal service to always stick to their advertised delivery time.

Dont know what Slane are doing different, but they have always been next day for me, and thats using GLS, in fact only as recently as last week.

LBS might be fine if you're living in Dublin, but for a lot of us living in the shticks, we occasionally need a bit more than a can of 3 in 1 and Rema Tube Repair Kits.
