Writing something before a Retweet

Hey, quick question. Right now if I want to write something before a retweet I have to copy and paste. If I press the retweet button it just retweets without letting me add anything.

I am trying to do something like "Thanks! RT @mary etc.etc."

It's the Thanks I wants to write without using copy and paste.

    Cheers!

Correct, you have to copy and paste and enter text and RT yourself. the RT button will just do the whole thing without letting you edit.

Depending on the client you're using you might have a Quote Tweet option.

And what kind of client would I need for that? I have Tweetdeck on my Android device, but it's pretty awkward to use.
